About Ashtanga Yoga
The practice of yoga according to the method of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.
It is a practice and philosophy that develops the physical, psychological and spiritual health of the person. It is transmitted from teacher to student or from Guru to disciple with a traditional method known as “Mysore style”.
This method uses the ujjay pranayama breathing “victorious breathing” or “free breathing with sound”, with postures (asanas), with the movements of the vinyasa system and drsti gaze point, to achieve control of the senses and a deep awareness of ourselves.
By synchronizing movement with breath and gaze, one enters a state of meditation in movement.
“When breath feeds action, and action feeds posture, every movement becomes smooth, precise and perfectly stable” (Hamish Hendry)
By maintaining this discipline with regularity and devotion, physical and mental stability is achieved. Minimizing the risk of injury or illness.
Whatever time of life you are in, it is a transformative practice and it is very beautiful to be able to experience and feel it.
Each person benefits from this system of yoga in a way that is unique to them.
Always listen to your body and the signals it gives you, always keep in mind your limitations as well as your capabilities.
“Ashtanga yoga is 99% practice and 1% theory” (Sri k. Patthabhi Jois).
About Mysore style
In Mysore style students receive individual classes in a group setting and practice at their own pace, with personalized advice and adaptations to allow them to progress and sometimes adjustments by the teacher.
Practicing in this way allows you to focus on your breathing and encourages a meditative nature to your practice.
Absorb each asana and let it work on you. It purifies and strengthens the body and mind.
A Mysore class is the perfect environment to get started in Ashtanga Yoga. This is the safest and most effective way to get started in the practice, as it allows you to work at your own pace and receive the personalized attention you need, when you need it.
The postures (asanas) can be adjusted to each person and to the various stages of life.
I will teach you the sequence of series, with the postures (asanas), one by one, in a methodical way so that you can memorize them.
We will develop a sequence of postures that you can do “YOUR PRACTICE” and that practice you can take with you wherever you want.
To whom it is addressed
All people are welcome regardless of age, sex, physical condition and level of practice.
Beginners are always welcome, absolutely welcome!!!!!
